The Red River Playboys
is a collection of seasoned musicians with an average of 30 years playing experience in various genres. The Playboys is the brainchild of guitarist Michael "T-Mike" Long & accordionist Pat "Frenchy" Mason, both from Shreveport, Louisiana, who have been part of the Louisiana music scene since the early 70's and are experienced in the diverse musical heritage of Louisiana, including Cajun/Zydeco, Swamp Pop, R&B, Blues & Country. Seasoned in the rich Zydeco/Cajun flavor of Louisiana, the Playboys can create a progressive music style combining traditional and modern elements unique to both south and north Louisiana. Rounding out the the mix are veteran bassist, Larry "Gordeaux" Gordy, drummer Ron "Deaux" Whitaker, and Choya "Snap Bean" Crenshaw (Pat's cousin) on fiddle, and, our most recent addition, veteran keyboardist Bill Unverzagt, well known and respected in the Shreveport music scene for many years. From popular Louisiana music to our original tunes, the Playboys are the quintessential party band. You can order their CD "BIG RED" by requesting a copy when filling out the contact form. Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler!! (Let the Good Times Roll) by choosing the Red River Playboys for your next event!!
